On Friday the 05. March 04 a bold small group of runners got on its way. A view started the attempt to run the 40 hours in one stretch, while a view wanted just to run a marathon, others where befriending the idea to run over 42.2 km to test their capacity.
The first night was clear and the moon was smiling at us in its full beauty and was lightening up our track. As it was cloudless, the temperatures in the night were accordingly fresh. With 10° C and strong winds in the early hours the outer conditions were very demanding.
On Saturday the sun was encouragingly smiling at us from above in its full splendour letting us forget about the cold air.
In the early hours of the next day the nature was covered by a layer of snow.
Although the intense cold were presend all around, you could see from the shining faces of the runners, that an inner happiness was warming them from within and they were enjoying this experience in full length. The food table was excellently managed by Jewgenij and Markus.
Sonja, Nidhruvi, Anneliese, Indivar, Margit, Katharina... were filling up the tables ever again and we enjoyed the warm soups and dishes that were bending down the tables.
All in all 65 runners participated, many of them running for the first time a marathon.
A total of 2207 km were run and 28 runners run a marathon distance or beyond.
For Bogustawa it was the first marathon, but this was not enough for her. At the end 150km went on her counting.
