As I started to run marathons the New York marathon was a must in the first years. At that time I was not really capable to run a good marathon, but it was always still a great experience.

To be frank mostly a was not even able to reach the finishing line, usually around kilometer 25 to 30 I was getting such awful cramps and kneel pain that I was forced to walk or limp for long parts.
Whenever I was reaching this point where the running was over, I was feeling the need for something to eat - especially for sweets.

At one of these disastrous situations, it was a New York marathon at kilometer 30, I was limping down the road facing directly the sun. There were also planes in the sky writing messages with vapour trails.
So I was limping down the road, enjoying the sun in my face, with eyes shut I was imagine all kind of sweets.
As I opened again the eyes - the message of the planes were saying: DUNKIN DONUTS.

Surprised about the happy news, I had to smile about the way wishes can be fulfilled.
